Extended Care Program
At St. Joseph Catholic School, we provide afterschool care by South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) certified employees to our students in grades PK-7th, from 3:00pm – 5:30pm for a small fee.
Our Extended Care Program provides supervised care at school when parents are unable to pick their student up at the school dismissal time. Parents may choose to utilize our program on an everyday, semi-regular, or drop in basis. Our program only operates when the school term is in session. Therefore, it is not open during school breaks and holidays. Extended Care is also not available on Early Dismissal Days.
Daily Activities and Programs:
Students need time after school to relax, socialize and complete homework with help. Therefore we include activities in our extended care schedule to meet this need. There is age-appropriate homework/tutoring time for students in grades 1-8 included in our schedule. All students are required to participate in the daily study/homework time. K4-K5 are able to play quiet games while older students do homework.
Fees:
St. Joseph Catholic School Extended Care Program is not subsidized by the parish or school and is therefore totally dependent upon fees. The registration fee of $50.00 per family is to be paid and submitted with the Extended Care Registration Form. Our rates are $6.00 per student per hour, billed in 15 minute increments. Families are charged only when their student attends Extended Care. Billing statements will be issued through FACTS at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s usage.
Extended Care Program fees begin at 3:00pm.
Attendance is recorded by a parent’s signature at pick up, so signatures are required.
After Hours Fee:
Staff are only employed until 5:30pm. For pick-up after 5:30pm, a late fee of $5.00 per minute is assessed. In cases of an emergency or unavoidable delay, please contact the school office at 864-760-1619. This call will not negate the late fee, but it will eliminate needless worry for your student and for those members who are responsible for their safety.
